Axel Catellier is an M.A. candidate at the Georgetown University Asian Studies Program, where he specializes on the Korean Peninsula. He is also the deputy programming director at the Sejong Society of Washington D.C., a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation of Korea specialists. He was a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship 2021 participant and previously interned at the Woodrow Wilson Center. His research interests include the impact of U.S.-China competition on U.S. alliances in Northeast Asia as well as North Korean nuclear and ballistic missile development. Mr. Catellier earned a B.A., summa cum laude with college and departmental honors, in Asian Humanities from UCLA.
