Eleanor Shiori Otsuka Hughes currently works at Indiana University-Bloomington’s Office of International Services, where she assists international students and scholars with the international admissions process and maintaining their legal immigration status. She has previously held internships at the University of Notre Dame’s Donor Services Office and their Center for the Study of Language and Culture. Eleanor received her B.A. in History and a minor in Political Science from Saint Mary’s College. In addition, she earned twenty-one credit hours of Japanese language and culture courses from the University of Notre Dame. Eleanor wrote her thesis on contemporary Japan-North Korean diplomatic relations, specifically the Japanese abduction issue.
