Sailee Charlu is a student at Orange County School of the Arts with a deep interest in socio-cultural divides and bilingual educational equality. She founded nonprofits Habla Arte and The Lit League, both bilingual Spanish-English initiatives that bridge the language barrier through visual arts, public speaking, and spoken poetry. The programs have expanded across Orange County Title I schools with the Speak Art app, a bilingual children’s book funded by national grants, and OC regional poetry slams across the county. She is also the lead prosecutor of her Mock Trial National Team, Carnegie Hall awardee for her solo piano playing, California Senator of Civic Leaders of America, and a professional spoken poet with the CA GetLit Poetry Troupe. Sailee hopes to pursue a future in government and politics.
