Thomas Dichter, an anthropologist, has over 50 years of international development experience. He was an officer of an international NGO, a Peace Corps Country Director, and an officer in a Swiss based foundation. Since 1994 he has been an independent consultant for the World Bank, UNDP, IFAD, USAID, the Asian Development Bank, among others. He is the author of 'Despite Good Intentions, Why Development Assistance to the Third World has Failed,' and co-editor of 'What's Wrong with Microfinance?'
