Carlos Eduardo Baena is a native of Brasília, Brazil and holds a BA in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, as well as an MA in International Policy Analysis and Management from the same institution. During his MA, Carlos focused his research on international development, more specifically on South-South Cooperation mechanism between BRICS countries. During this time, he studied abroad in Shanghai, China as part of Fudan University's Summer BRICS program. Carlos also worked for the Brazilian think tank Observa China, which focuses on Brazil-China relations. Currently, Carlos is graduate student of International Studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.
