Chiara Evelti is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in International Affairs with a concentration in international development at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. Chiara graduated summa cum laude from Butler University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Studies and Spanish. She has over 5 years of experience in higher education, having worked in educational institutions in China, the Czech Republic, and the United States. Prior to her roles in higher education, Chiara oversaw the service-learning program for an education-based nonprofit in Guatemala’s Western Highlands. Her experience in Central America propelled her to examine the relationship between food security and education, as well as its ties to social justice, nationalism, and sustainable development.
