Laya Krishnan is an 11th-grade student with a passion for public policy, international relations, and journalism. Her advocacy work has led her to draft and advance legislation addressing the homelessness crisis in her city, as well as conduct international field studies on economic disparity and governance. In Guatemala and India, she has examined the systemic causes of chronic malnourishment, wealth inequality, and the gender gap in less developed nations. She aspires to pursue a career in journalism and public affairs, contributing to institutions dedicated to accountability and social impact.
