Nathaniel Sawyer

My name is Nathaniel Sawyer. I am a Master’s degree candidate at Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. I study International Policy and Development with a specialization in human trafficking, migration, and human security. My background is in criminal justice and community service. While studying for my B.S. in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Psychology and a B.A. in Spanish, I worked as a corrections officer and foster care specialist. I then served in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, where I worked to prevent child labor Quito. In my free time I volunteer as the political chair for the Monterey County California NAACP, Vice President for the Democratic Club of the Monterey Peninsula, and with the Red Cross. I enjoy hiking, spending time with my wife, and volunteering in my community.
