I am a Senior Lecturer in International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Queensland, and the Research Director at the Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect. My research focuses primarily on international efforts to protect civilians and forced migrants.I am the author of "A Right to Flee: Refugees, States, and the Construction of International Cooperation" (Cambridge University Press, October 2014) and, with Alexander Betts, the co-editor "Implementation in World Politics: How Norms Change Practice" (Oxford University Press, July 2014). My work has been published in Global Governance, International Affairs, and the Review of International Studies, among other journals.
