Solomon Olshin is a junior at Pomona College in Claremont, California and writes primarily on the social and environmental implications of renewable energy technology and infrastructure. He studies International Relations and Science, Technology and Society with a concentration in Environmental Chemistry. Outside his university coursework and research, Solomon runs an impact-oriented renewable energy startup, Shine Technologies, and is conducting disaster relief energy generation research in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado. He has worked across the U.S., the Middle East, and the former Soviet Union on sustainability, renewable energy deployment, international education, entrepreneurship diplomacy, and cultural exchange.
