Benafsha Yaqoobi is a human rights and social justice advocate based in the United Kingdom. She previously served as a prosecutor and as a Commissioner at the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, where she worked to advance the rights of women, children, and persons with disabilities. She currently leads Rahyab Initiatives, an organisation that provides education and empowerment opportunities for persons with disabilities and promotes their full and equal participation in society. She holds a PhD from Lovely Professional University, India, and is currently a PhD candidate at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
