Betty Wakia is a PhD student in Ideology and Political Education at the School of Marxism at Wuhan University of Technology in Wuhan, China. She holds a MA in Education from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom, and a BA in Education from the Tianjin University of Technology and Education in Tianjin, China. She is a literacy activist and writer for local newspapers in Papua New Guinea.
