Robert Sharp served 25 years in the British Army including the U.S. National War College as the British International Fellow of Class of 2004 and in 2006 emigrated to the U.S. to follow a career in academia at the National Defense University as Assistant and then Associate Professor specializing in security sector reform, stability operations and counterterrorism with a focus on Yemen, Lebanon, the Palestinian Authority, the UAE and Afghanistan. After an academic year as a founding member and Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Quality Assurance Advisor at the UAE National Defence College, he worked until retirement as a Coffey International Development consultant as the Academic Advisor and Programme Manager with the Unites States Security Coordinator – Ramallah, the British Support Team in the West Bank.
